Application Specialist
The individual selected for this role will play a pivotal role in advancing new application development within the 3M China Electronics Lab. The focus will be on delivering high-value, differentiated solutions to key customers in the electronics markets, including consumer electronics, automotive, and IoT sectors.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing support to key account teams through in-depth technical expertise in electronics-related applications.
- Driving the growth of product applications by converting competitive products and developing new applications.
- Actively participating in local and global new product introduction (NPI) projects by offering voice of customer (VOC) insights and technical requirements.
- Managing multiple customer projects effectively.
- Delivering product and application training to both internal and external audiences.
- Collaborating with key account teams to replicate successful application implementations.
Basic qualifications required:
- Master's degree or higher in materials, electronics, mechanical, polymer, or chemical engineering from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics materials and applications.
- Proven ability to lead and drive customer projects independently.
- Experience in managing customer complaints.
- Strong skills in global teamwork and innovation.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in consumer electronics or automotive sectors.
- Familiarity with tapes, adhesives, and film products.
- Experience in thermal and EMI/EMC application development.
- Proficiency in both oral and written English.
Location: Shanghai, 3M R&D Center, China. Travel: May include up to 70% domestic and international travel.
