Insurance Operations Analyst

The Insurance Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring the Insurance Operations Department operates efficiently and effectively with a focus on continuous improvement.  In addition, this vital role assists in billing operations and supports the management team by generating and distributing reports that allow them to establish benchmarks, monitor goals and attainment, provide insights into trends, and give them the needed information to make informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing workflows and procedures.
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Assist in the implementation of streamlining procedures in an effort to reduce errors and enhance productivity.
  • Document and deliver training programs for any new procedures.
  • Support billing operations by monitoring Suspense, error reports and account corrections.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide insight into operational metrics.
  • Maintain records of created reports and any changes made, ensuring proper documentation of the reporting process.
  • Participate in the testing and implementation of new systems or system upgrades, in order to become a Point Person in the rollout and training of any new system and/or software for the department.
  • Proactive support by using insights to offer solutions and support before problems arise.
  • Other supporting duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
  • Ensure operational procedures adhere to regulatory requirements and internal company policies, including HIPAA compliance where applicable.
  • Actively support and comply with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information; abide by HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
  • To work remotely, it is expected you will have a reliable, nonpublic high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to participate in all work-related activities. Any interruptions in service should be immediately reported to your manager.
  • Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or 5+ years of related experience in insurance administration or a similar field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and insurance administration software
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Flexibility and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong ability to work independently, with management and/or with other Team Members
  • Take ownership of job responsibilities by initiating prompt and appropriate follow up and/or action to any issues that arise.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Anticipate needs in a proactive manner to increase satisfaction.
