The Pod Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for the overall performance and direction of a multi-disciplinary Pod. The Pod Manager will lead a team of professionals delivering Advisory, Tax Prep and Compliance, Bookkeeping, and Payroll services to our clients. This role is focused on long-term success, team development, and strategic alignment with the company's broader objectives. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a vision for the department's culture and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Pod Leadership: Drive the vision and culture for the entire Pod, mentoring supervisors and fostering an environment of accountability and continuous improvement.
Performance Management: Manage key performance indicators (KPIs), fostering a data-driven culture within the pod. Making data-informed decisions and goals for the Pod. Conduct formal performance evaluations, and manage overall team performance.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to plan for future operational needs and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
Process Improvement: Analyze performance data and workflows to identify opportunities for significant improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness within the Pod's services.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the Pod and other areas of the business.
Team Building: Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding strategy to build a capable and resilient team within the Pod.
Client Relations: Oversee key client relationships, acting as a point of escalation and ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications include:
Experience: 5-7 years of progressive experience in a management role within the financial services, accounting, or business advisory industry.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or EA preferred.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and developing multi-disciplinary teams.
Industry Knowledge: Strong, comprehensive knowledge of tax, compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services.

Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficient with industry-standard accounting and management software.
