Responsibilities
• Provide one-on-one career counseling to job seekers, offering guidance on career paths, resume building, and interview preparation.
• Assess job seekers' strengths, skills, and career goals to provide tailored recommendations for job readiness.
• Guide job seekers through the Career Services baseline assessment process to identify individual needs and next steps.
• Facilitate workshops on resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies to enhance job seekers' employability.
• Develop engaging materials and presentations to ensure job seekers acquire essential job search skills.
• Coordinate workshop logistics, including scheduling, attendee registration, and post-session follow-up.
• Monitor and track the progress of job seekers throughout their engagement in career services programs.
• Maintain accurate and updated records in relevant systems, documenting services provided, and outcomes achieved.
• Conduct regular follow-ups with job seekers to ensure continued engagement and readiness for job opportunities.
• Partner with the Employer Relations & Placement Unit to align job seekers with employer needs and job vacancies.
• Share job seeker profiles with the Employer Relations team to match skills with open positions effectively.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to enhance coordination and improve job placement outcomes.
• Manage candidate data, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate records of career counseling sessions.
• Prepare reports on job seeker engagement, workshop attendance, and job placement success rates.
• Assist in organizing and supporting job fairs, recruitment events, and other career development activities.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Career Counseling, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in career counseling, workforce development, or job placement services.
• Strong knowledge of resume writing, interview coaching, and job search strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide effective counseling to a diverse group of job seekers.
• Experience working in the healthcare industry or with unionized workforces.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Docebo)
• Familiarity with job search platforms, applicant tracking systems (iCIMS or Salesforce), or career development tools.
• Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply; proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or other languages is a plus.
• Experience with organizing and facilitating job readiness workshops or training sessions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data management systems.
• Knowledge of local and regional labor market trends and workforce needs.
Perm location Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, and Hicksville
Willingness to travel throughout the five boroughs, Hudson Valley and Long Island as needed to support recruitment and placement activities.
This position requires schedule flexibility, including participation in a rotating shift that alternates between a standard 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (in office) and a 12:00 PM–8:00 PM (remote) hybrid schedule to support job seekers during extended hours based on operational needs.
