FTTP Field Service Technician I

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Preferred physical labor experience Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Thorough knowledge of ALLO construction procedures. Ability to gain knowledge of fiber construction and material. Basic knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and the ability to learn Smartsheets. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers, contractors and company employees. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Ability to travel outside of the home office area for extended periods of time based on project and business need.

Must be able to: Operate a company vehicle. Ability to maintain a valid driver's license. Pull a trailer with equipment loaded on it. Includes hooking up and backing up. Able to do general maintenance for vehicle and trailers. Work DOT inspection sheet and obtain DOT physical. Keep truck and trailer clean and organized. Work power tools. Climb ladder up to 35'. Run heavy walk behind machinery. Read a measuring tape. Utilize personal cell phone for business purposes. Work solo or with a team. Work with small items i.e., splice ends, snips and cleavers (will teach right candidate). Be punctual and ready to work. Ability to drive a lift truck (preferred not required). Requirements: Raise objects up to 100 lbs. Remain upright on feet for extended periods. Ability to communicate information. Ability to crouch and crawl. Ability to bend, kneel, stand. Ability to ascend/descend ladder. Ability to carry tools and equipment. Ability to operate a computer. Ability to observe details at far range. Ability to operate hand tools and equipment. Ability to operate machinery. Ability to work outdoors. Ability to work in extreme weather. Weight Restrictions Aerial: Ladder - Less than 350 lbs including equipment Bucket - Less than 250 lbs including equipment. Ability to pass a DOT Physical/Certification. Possess/Maintain a valid Driver's License. 10% travel requirement.
