Supply Chain Services Manager

Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Supply Chain Services Manager to join our Corporate Services & Communications team. It's an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power's Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.

They oversee strategic activities for the entire Materials Services operation, including the material warehousing, distribution, inventory, and data analytics teams. They ensure inventory control, systems support, warehouse transaction process accuracy, and productivity to achieve company goals and initiatives. They develop strong working relationships with internal customers and contractors to assure enterprise-wide quality and service targets are met. They set goals and objectives for the team, manage department budgets, and oversee staff development.

A competitive candidate will have knowledge of warehouse and materials operations core processes, inventory control processes, ERP Software, and lean warehouse/manufacturing concepts. Preferred: current trends and practices in materials management including materials systems, utility industry operations, materials, and inventory management, Idaho Power (IPC) budgeting and financial reporting processes, and lean manufacturing methods. Managing process compliance and SOX control requirements.

Skills in strong customer service skills, leadership skills, and strong customer focus, self-motivated with a strong strategic ability, time management and prioritization, decision managing, strong motivational and interpersonal capabilities, and team building. Effective communication, group facilitation, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving, budgeting, and developing metrics. Preferred: Analytical project management and technical skills in planning, procurement, and/or inventory management. Forward-looking decision making while incorporating the enterprise view.

Ability to motivate and influence others, communicate effectively, and establish effective working relationships with all levels of management. Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and needs. Align goals of department to corporate goals, strategies, and maintain confidentiality. Effectively develop and present information and lead meetings. Analyze information and develop root cause understanding of complex information and processes. Make logical and accurate decisions using the best available information. Apply and model behaviors associated with a high-performance culture. Lead and motivate others toward achievement of individual and business unit goals. Preferred: Considers and balances customer, employee, and shareowner views when making decisions.

Minimum requirements education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, supply chain management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience. Experience: 7 years of recent experience in supply chain operations, developing work groups, and continuously refining work practices including 5 years demonstrated leadership experience. Preferred: 10 years of experience leading warehousing or materials operations, 10 years of experience in corporate procurement, materials management, or supply chain operations, 5 years of demonstrated supervisory experience, utilization of enterprise software for inventory and supply chain operations, including ERP tools/software. Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position. Preferred: APICS Certification.

Physical requirements: This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 25 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position. Additional information: Job will require regular travel each month within the IPC service territory with occasional overnight stays. Some travel outside of the service territory will also be required.
