The Role

Medcan is recruiting for a Manager, Clinic Services, to join the team. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with experience in a similar nursing role, exceptional communication, and previous leadership/mid-management experience. The role oversees the day-to-day operations of the Annual Health Assessment and Child and Youth Clinics. The Manager, Clinic Services, will work collaboratively with Manager colleagues and inter-professional care team members to optimize clinic services by promoting evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and innovation, healthy safe work environment, and compliance with all legislative requirements.

The Accountabilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and performance of onsite nursing and non-nursing staff within the Annual Health Assessment (AHA) and Child & Youth Assessment (CYA) clinics.
  • Continuously assess clinic volumes, client needs, and resource availability to identify gaps and optimize operations.
  • Prioritize decisions based on client care needs and safety, ensuring workflows align with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new staff; identify and address training and development needs.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coach team members, and manage performance issues in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture that emphasizes continuous learning, innovation, and clinical excellence.
  • Support staff in de-escalating and resolving challenging client interactions; manage escalations professionally to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with Product Teams, Clinical Directors, physicians, and other stakeholders to develop and implement new programs and services.
  • Provide clinical leadership by promoting evidence-based practices and maintaining nursing competency standards.
  • Develop, review and revise standards of practice, policies and procedures in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Monitor adherence to policies and procedures and take prompt action to address safety concerns or incidents, including documentation and reporting in accordance with legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate serious concerns or safety incidents to the designated Director in a timely manner.
  • Provide support within the range of hours that the business is open (currently Monday to Saturday 6:30am to 7:00 pm)

The Requirements

  • BScN, in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 3-5 years leadership/management experience in a health care organization.
  • 4+ years nursing experience
  • Current CPR/BCLS certification
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Great organization and time management skills
  • Ability to function independently and as a part of the multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Support occasional onsite Saturday Manager on Duty role
  • Work onsite (5 days a week with occasional remote day)

This role will be reporting to Senior Manager, Clinic Services.
