Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whānau |Welcome to our Fulton Hogan Family

You will be the go-to HR Advisor across our Central Otago regional business, based in Alexandra, Cromwell or Queenstown. Day to day, you will coach leaders, resolve people issues early, and keep things on track across the full HR lifecycle. You will provide practical advice on employment and industrial relations, working closely with operational leaders to manage risk and do the right thing by our people. This is an autonomous role where you will build strong relationships, spot patterns, and help shape how HR is delivered across the region.

This is an exciting new role, and an opportunity to make it your own, working with senior leaders to help set the people agenda and strategy for the regional business.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Provide confidential, practical HR advice to managers, including employment documentation, performance, leave, remuneration, benefits and ER/disciplinary process and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and employee data, ensuring employment agreements and related documents align with current legislation.
  • Coordinate performance and development activity, including annual reviews, PDPs and tailored development plans.
  • Lead regional training coordination and compliance, including compulsory courses and partnering with H&S to support business continuity.
  • Champion early careers and graduate pathways (scholarships, apprenticeships, cadetships), from onboarding and rotations through to pastoral care and progression.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment for current and future needs, including advertising, recruitment campaigns, shortlisting and structured, competency-based interviewing.
  • Own the new starter experience as the key contact pre-start, ensuring timely inductions and onboarding across the region

There will be some travel within the Central Otago region involved in the role.

At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities, they need to succeed and grow with us.

Creating, Connecting, and caring for the community

Our people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills, and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities. Our focus aims to also reduce our impact on the environment, and regenerate healthy new ecosystems. We look to partner with others to lift the standards of our industry and show customers lower-impact, sustainable ways of delivering infrastructure.

All successful candidates must under-go and pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen prior to employment.
