Amazon's Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is fundamental to our operations: they are the ones who keep the vital machinery running at all times. As an RME technician, you will maintain a wide range of equipment and work spaces while maintaining the best health and safety practices. You will help keep your colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RME technicians increase the availability and quality of our equipment and also work to improve the operational environment.

Key job responsibilities:

• Proactive and preventive maintenance of a wide range of equipment
• Perform reactive repairs and fault diagnostics at a working distribution center
• Use the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness
• Maintain all health and safety policies and practices
• Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
• Work on continuous improvement projects and implement best practices at various sites in Mexico

A day in the life:

Our RME technicians are located on-site so they can respond quickly to any machinery problems. You will carry out a series of planned preventive maintenance on our site equipment to ensure they operate safely. As an RME technician, you will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You will also make suggestions for long-term improvements. Working alongside more experienced colleagues, you will carry out daily maintenance tasks and communicate with contractors if you need external expertise. You will be able to work on a variety of shifts to ensure our sites have 24-hour support, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we are known for.

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keeps our equipment running at its best performance. We are a technical-minded team, made up of excellent team players and led by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in our global network of distribution centers. Some of our employees are leaders who oversee the team while working on interesting technologies, some of which only exist at Amazon.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general site maintenance and repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most of the technical aspects of Amazon. This includes keeping buildings compliant with the law, ensuring everyone is safe, and making sure our sites run at maximum efficiency. There are many opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and across Amazon.

We work to reduce downtime in Amazon's critical operations sites so customers receive their orders on time. If we identify a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes or cutting-edge technologies.
