Project Kuiper is Amazon's low earth orbit satellite broadband network. The Test Rack Engineer will be responsible for deployment, maintenance, calibration, and modification to Kuiper satellite ground support equipment test racks and associated cable harnesses. This individual will work closely with space vehicle and test rack design teams, quality teams, vendors, and launch processing teams to ensure on-time delivery and successful operation of test rack equipment.
The Test Rack Engineer is a skilled individual contributor within the team. This engineer is responsible for developing and maturing practices for maintaining a fleet of test rack equipment, debugging hardware/software/network issues locally and in the field, implementing calibration practices, and planning upgrades with associated design teams to fielded hardware.

A day in the life:
The Test Rack Engineer will spend significant amounts of time collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams in support of satellite processing, test, and charging operations in the payload processing facility and at various launch sites. They will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, testing, calibrating, and upgrading a fleet of test racks utilized throughout the organization. They will implement engineering best practices in a safe and repeatable manner, implementing efficiency improvements and reducing non-conformances.
