Structural Engineer Opportunity

Amazon is currently looking to hire a qualified Structural Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in supporting facility and engineering activity across Amazon's Fulfillment Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design standards of various structural systems across the AFN building programs. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. This role will be based in Bellevue, WA or in New York, NY. Periodic travel will be required. This role will report to the Engineering Team Manager based in New York.

Key Responsibilities

Review and management of structural design standards, models, and calculation packages. Familiarity and the capacity to review and direct structural analysis using industry-standard software (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, etc.); review calc packages, drawings, specifications, and construction details and ensure designs comply with local building codes and industry standards.

Program Management: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. Ensure all work meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in peer reviews and design validation processes. Stay current with building codes, standards, and industry best practices. Manage multiple complex projects and programs simultaneously.

About the team: The Engineering team is responsible for managing the templates, design criteria, specifications and other design basis documentation for Amazon's Fulfillment Network. This includes reviewing third party design packages, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and conducting studies on existing or new technologies. We value engineers who can identify novel solutions, present convincing business arguments, and excel at program management.
