Project Kuiper Software Engineer
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low earth orbit (leo). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Key job responsibilities in this role include participating in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations. Our team vision is to automate mission planning and execution to efficiently operate the Kuiper fleet at scale, while maintaining space safety and maximizing service availability for Kuiper satellite internet customers.
- Develop embedded software in c, c++, rust, or other languages in a real-time operating system environment
- Write system applications for satellite command and file transfer
- Work closely with ground service teams to support satellite operation
