Key Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable software solutions that calculate taxes accurately and efficiently across Amazon's global operations, handling millions of service requests per minute
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet tax compliance standards worldwide
• Develop, test, and deploy high-quality distributed system software using software engineering best practices and modern development methodologies
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design reviews, code reviews, documentation, testing, and operational support of production systems

A day in the life

As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you'll engage with the full software development lifecycle—from initial design conversations through deployment and operations.
