In this position you will work on the storage component of the Aurora DSQL Data Plane.

Distributed data management is at the heart of AWS database services and is responsible for delivering ultra-fast and highly scalable performance. We are building and operating large scale, distributed, fault-tolerant data and transaction management solutions using specialized data structures, distributed consensus algorithms and many other advanced technologies. Key job responsibilities include:

• Solving challenging technical problems, often ones not solved before, at every layer of the stack.
• Designing, implementing, testing, deploying and maintaining innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
• Building high-quality, highly available, always-on products.
• Researching implementations that deliver the best possible experiences for customers.

A day in the life involves:

• Designing and coding solutions to help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture.
• Creating metrics, implementing automation and other improvements, and resolving the root cause of software defects.
• Building high-impact solutions to deliver to our large customer base.
• Participating in design discussions, code review, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Working cross-functionally to help drive business decisions with your technical input.
• Working in a startup-like development environment, where you're always working on the most important stuff.
