Data Center Engineer

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key job responsibilities:
- Working as part of the Operations team; whose primary responsibility is the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure.
- Installing server racks, removing server racks, fixing various IT hardware and network components, and responding to emergent situations that affect operations.
- Meeting customer service level agreements by resolving problems, and being the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
- Performing on-call duties and participating in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
- Participating in team meetings for metric analysis and to discuss achieving daily/weekly goals.
- Having the knowledge of the policies and procedures, including safety and security, within your department, and understanding the appropriate application of such knowledge.
- Contributing to documentation on technical issues through root cause analysis for operational issues that occur, and contributing to process improvement initiatives relevant to the data center environment.
- Assisting in training less experienced members of the team.
A day in the life:
- Supporting Data Center infrastructure equipment (e.g. racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables, etc.)
- Following the instructions ticket-based environment and working on systematic problem resolution and performing routine operation activities on hardware, or spare parts, including installing and removing server racks and fixing server hardware.
- Performing on-call duties and participating in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
- Showing a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Being involved with site management and maintaining tidiness in operation areas.
- Working in a rotating shift with a team of other engineers.
- Your standard shift hours are 10 hours with a one hour break. You work on 4 days work shifts and 3 days off in the week. Your standard work hours are 8:00-18:00, 12:00-22:00, 21:45-08:15.
