Product Manager - Technical

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

The AWS Data Center Design Engineering - BIM & AI Technologies team is seeking a Product Manager - Technical to drive the product strategy and delivery of AI-powered design automation solutions for AWS's global data center infrastructure. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product lifecycle for generative AI applications that serve architects, engineers, construction managers, and facility operators, transforming how data center design documentation is created, validated, and delivered at scale.

You will work at the intersection of Building Information Modeling (BIM), generative AI, and cloud-based platforms, partnering with software engineers, applied scientists, UX designers, and AECO domain experts to define, build, and launch products that accelerate facility design workflows. You will translate complex customer needs from the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Ownership (AECO) industry into clear technical requirements, drive cross-functional execution, and ensure AI-powered features maintain the high trust bar that engineering professionals demand, augmenting rather than replacing professional judgment.

The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong product instincts, thrives in ambiguous problem spaces, and is passionate about applying AI to real-world engineering challenges at unprecedented scale.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Define and own the product roadmap for AI-powered BIM design automation features, working backwards from the needs of architects, engineers, construction managers, and facility operators
  • Write detailed product requirements documents (PRFAQs, technical specifications, and strategic narratives) that translate complex AECO workflows into clear, actionable engineering plans
  • Partner with applied scientists and software engineers to evaluate technical feasibility, define success metrics, and drive end-to-end delivery of ML/GenAI-powered features from conception through launch
  • Collaborate with UX designers to ensure AI-native product experiences maintain human-in-the-loop workflows and appropriate confidence levels for professional engineering use cases
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, science, design, and AECO domain expert teams, managing trade-offs between time, effort, and feature scope
  • Define and track key product metrics, leveraging data-informed decision making and experimentation to measure product success and inform roadmap priorities
  • Engage directly with internal customers (data center design engineers, construction managers, facility operators) to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities for AI-driven automation
  • Contribute to operational planning and business reviews, communicating product strategy, impact, and trade-offs to senior leadership
  • Identify and address technical limitations that affect product scale, performance, or innovation in collaboration with senior engineers
