Operations Lead/Supervisor

The operational business area is the heart of Amazon. An effective running operation contributes to the processing of items and timely delivery to our customers. As an Operations Lead/Supervisor, you will experience how all different parts of the operation function and contribute to a smooth process. You will act as the first point of contact for team members during their shifts and help them follow the processes introduced by your managers. You will gain practical experience and use analytical systems that contribute to the success of our company.

Key job responsibilities include: measuring and monitoring workflows, tracking performance at the location, and providing important shift information to shift/area managers in the operation to ensure operational excellence across shifts; supporting and training employees to achieve great performance and supervising their daily tasks; supporting the shift/area manager in projects for process improvement, promoting a safe working environment, and increasing employee engagement; collaborating with other departments to find solutions to common problems or meet needs in important performance areas; using data analytics to find opportunities to optimize safety, quality, and productivity.

A day in the life as an Operations Lead/Supervisor involves working at one of our operational sites. You will support your shift/area manager in carrying out the shift plan. You will help prepare shift meetings with your team and monitor procedures and processes. This ensures that safety rules, quality assurance processes, and the day's priorities are followed. Problems you notice are escalated to your manager. Occasionally, you will also act as the shift leader and provide your employees with the necessary guidance to complete their tasks. If needed, you will support your shift/area manager in shift planning and ensure that enough team members are assigned during peak times.

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is responsible for the delivery of millions of our customers' products directly to their doorsteps. The "last-mile logistics" delivers our packages in partnership with third-party providers and implements numerous initiatives for continuous improvement to satisfy millions of customers. Our goal is to make the delivery experience as smooth as possible for our customers and to introduce global delivery solutions for our latest offerings, including Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants. Our work is divided into two divisions. "Under the Roof" covers everything that happens within our logistics locations, and "On the Road" covers everything that happens on the road in the delivery areas. Our employees prepare packages in appropriate shifts (night, early, late) for daily shipment to our delivery teams and handle returns that could not be delivered. Every year, we set new standards in terms of customer experience and offer new, innovative delivery services.
