Operations Supervisor

The operational business area is the heart of Amazon. An effectively running operation helps to ensure that items are processed and shipped to our customers in a timely manner. As an Operations Supervisor, you will experience how all the different parts of the operation function and contribute to a smooth process. You will act as the first point of contact for team members during their shift and help them follow the processes introduced by your managers. You will gain practical experience and use analytical systems that contribute to the success of our company.

Key job responsibilities include measuring and monitoring workflows, tracking performance at the location, and providing important shift information to shift/area managers in the operation to ensure operational excellence across shifts. You will support and train employees to achieve great performance and oversee their daily tasks. You will assist the shift/area manager with projects to improve processes, promote a safe working environment, and increase employee engagement. You will collaborate with other departments to find solutions for common problems or meet needs in key performance areas. You will use data analysis to find opportunities to optimize safety, quality, and productivity.

As an Operations Lead, you will work at one of our operational sites. You will support your shift/area manager in implementing the shift schedule. You will help prepare shift meetings with your team and monitor procedures and processes. You will ensure that safety rules, quality assurance processes, and the day's priorities are followed. You will escalate any problems you notice to your manager. Occasionally, you will also act as a shift leader and provide your employees with the necessary guidance to complete their tasks. If necessary, you will support your shift/area manager with shift planning and ensure that there are enough team members scheduled during peak times.

About the team: Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is responsible for heavy or bulky items such as furniture and large household appliances. Our team is responsible for the entire service from procurement to delivery and product returns. Extended customer support distinguishes this service from the others. In addition to delivering bulky items, we also unpack, assemble, and install new goods and, if desired, handle the removal of old devices. Our focus is on safety, productivity, and innovation. We make it easier and more convenient for customers to buy and receive bulky items. We have ambitious plans, including expanding our network of specialized logistics and distribution centers throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. Our colleagues at the logistics sites occasionally work night shifts. However, most of our team members work during the day. Our team includes employees from the fields of business administration, supply chain, business intelligence, and program management. We all play a crucial role in further developing this part of our company.
