Technical Reliability Maintenance Engineer

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is fundamental to our operations - they are the ones who keep vital machinery running all the time. As a Technical RME, you will maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces, while also upholding the best health and safety practices. You will help keep your colleagues safe and prevent downtime for machines. Our RME Technicians increase the availability and quality of our equipment and also work to improve the operational environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Proactive and preventive maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment.
• Perform reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in an operating distribution center.
• Utilize the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
• Maintain all health and safety policies and practices.
• Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices.
• Work on continuous improvement projects and implement best practices across various sites in Brazil.

A Day in the Life:

Our RME Technicians are based on-site so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You will perform a series of planned preventive maintenance on our site equipment to ensure they are functioning safely. As a Technical RME, you will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You will also make suggestions for long-term improvements.

Working alongside more experienced colleagues, you will carry out daily maintenance tasks and liaise with contractors if external expertise is needed. You may work in a variety of shifts to ensure our sites are supported 24 hours a day - allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we are known for.

We are a technical-minded team, composed of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in our global network of distribution centers. Some of our people are leaders, who supervise the team while working with exciting technology - some of which exist only at Amazon.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general site maintenance and repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most technical aspects of Amazon. This includes keeping buildings in legal compliance, ensuring everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency. There are many opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more broadly within Amazon. We work to reduce downtime on Amazon's crucial operation sites, so customers receive their orders on time. If we identify a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes or cutting-edge technologies.
