Logistics Scheduler

Central Operation is a new initiative by Amazon Logistics (AMZL). It builds operations to manage the last-mile network, which is the rapidly expanding final segment of logistics. Central Operation is a crucial AMZL initiative aimed at revolutionizing order volume forecasting, delivery driver fleet planning, and operational methods. Therefore, we are seeking Schedule Assistants who are passionate about innovation and problem-solving, with the ability to create world-class customer experiences.

As a Logistics Scheduler, for Central Operation, you will play a vital role in supporting all AMZL Delivery Stations (DS) in Japan. The work schedule is 40 hours/week, with 8-hour day and night shifts (including weekends and holidays). Some shifts may require working during New Year's holidays.

You will be responsible for planning accuracy, costs, and customer satisfaction, while contributing to the creation and deployment of best practices and standard operating procedures across the network. Specifically, under the support of managers and team members, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Daily Operations Management
    • Adjusting incoming package volumes
    • Adjusting the number of drivers to recruit
    • Creating delivery routes for drivers
    • Providing recovery support for delayed drivers
    • Notifying drivers and Amazon stakeholders of disaster information
    • System configuration
    • Creating operational activity reports
  • New Project Implementation
    • Preparing for operational expansion during sales events
    • Developing and executing improvement plans with team members
    • Planning and promoting projects for safety, quality, and operational efficiency improvements
    • Creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and promoting standardization
    • Preparing for new service launches and operational expansion

You will use Amazon systems and tools, including Excel, to input data for the above activities.

The main daily responsibilities of a Logistics Scheduler are as follows:

  • Monitor daily order volumes and delivery driver availability, adjusting delivery plans as needed
  • Provide prompt support and recovery assistance to delayed drivers
  • In the event of major disasters, quickly communicate safety information to drivers and Amazon stakeholders
  • Perform various operational tasks such as system configuration changes and creating performance reports

In this way, the critical role of a Logistics Scheduler is to contribute to improving customer experience through accuracy and swift action.
