Corporate Infrastructure Services (CIS) builds and operates the systems that power Amazon's corporate offices globally — the networks, compute platforms, audio-visual systems, and operational tooling that every Amazonian depends on. Our Systems Engineering function owns the control plane, observability platform, automation frameworks, and engineering standards that make this infrastructure reliable, scalable, and cost-effective across a worldwide footprint.
We are looking for a Systems Development Engineer to build and maintain components within our infrastructure automation and observability systems. You will work within one of our technical domains — networking, observability, compute, automation, or AV — building the tools, integrations, and automation that keep corporate infrastructure running at scale.
This is a hands-on building role. You will write software, build automation, troubleshoot systems, and improve operational performance. You will work within defined systems and architectures, solving straightforward problems and learning to tackle more difficult ones. You will be supported by experienced engineers who will help you grow your skills across software development, systems design, and operational excellence.
You will work with AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, S3, CloudWatch), Python, and infrastructure-as-code tools. You will learn to build within our CI/CD pipelines, contribute to our observability platform, and operate the systems you build.
