Key Job Responsibilities
A Day in the Life
A Hardware Development Engineer III spends the day driving sensor and optoelectronic system architecture for Amazon Robotics. They lead technical discussions, clarify requirements, and make design selections across electrical, mechanical, and firmware teams. Hands-on work includes evaluating prototypes, analyzing sensor data, and guiding packaging, PCBA, and thermal integration. The engineer collaborates with operations and vendors to ensure designs scale to production. They also mentor junior engineers, document requirements and test plans, and present concise technical updates to leadership. Internal robotics product teams rely on this role to deliver robust, high-performance sensing solutions.
