Operations Lead/Supervisor

The operational business unit is the heart of Amazon. An effective operation helps ensure that items are processed and shipped to our customers in a timely manner. As an Operations Lead/Supervisor, you will experience how all the different parts of the operation work and contribute to a smooth process. You will act as the first point of contact for team members during their shift and help them follow the processes introduced by your managers. You will gain practical experience and use analytical systems that contribute to the success of our company.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Measuring and monitoring workflows, tracking performance at the location, and providing important shift information to shift/area leaders in the operation to ensure operational excellence across shifts
  • Supporting and training employees to achieve great performance and overseeing their daily tasks
  • Supporting the shift/area leader with projects to improve processes, promote a safe working environment, and increase employee engagement
  • Working with other departments to find solutions to common problems or meet needs in key performance areas
  • Using data analysis to find opportunities to optimize safety, quality, and productivity
  • A day in the life:

As an Operations Lead/Supervisor, you will work at one of our operational sites. You will support your shift/area leader in implementing the shift schedule. You will help prepare shift meetings with your team and monitor procedures and processes. This ensures that safety rules, quality assurance processes, and the day's priorities are followed. Problems you notice, you escalate to your manager. Occasionally, you will also act as the shift leader and provide your employees with the necessary guidance to complete their tasks. If necessary, you will support your shift/area leader with shift planning and ensure that there are enough team members scheduled during peak times.

    About the team:

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) is responsible for heavy or bulky items such as furniture and large appliances. Our team is responsible for the entire service from procurement to delivery and product returns. Extended customer support distinguishes this service from others. In addition to delivering bulky items, we also unpack, assemble, and install new goods and, if desired, take care of the removal of old devices. Our focus is on safety, productivity, and innovation. We make it easier and more convenient for customers to buy and receive bulky items. We have ambitious plans, including expanding our network of specialized logistics and distribution centers throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. Our colleagues at the logistics sites occasionally work night shifts. Most of our team members, however, work during the day. Our team includes employees from the fields of business operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and program management. We all play a crucial role in further developing this part of our company.
