Data Center Infrastructure Engineer II

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented and motivated Data Center Infrastructure Engineer II to join our Data Center Engineering team in Herndon, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational integrity and reliability of critical data center infrastructure systems that power the world's largest cloud computing platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain critical data center infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure maximum uptime and availability
  • Perform root cause analysis on infrastructure failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all data center critical systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and construction teams to support capacity delivery and infrastructure improvements
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency operating procedures (EOPs) for infrastructure systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and safety across the data center portfolio
  • Support commissioning and validation activities for new infrastructure deployments and upgrades
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
