Data Engineer

Ring is seeking a Data Engineer with strong analytical, communication, and project management skills to join our team. This role will work closely with software development engineers, scientists, and business stakeholders across various verticals. You will design, evangelize, and implement efficient solutions that help us provide a great customer experience at a greater velocity. You will work with a complicated data environment, employ the right architecture to handle data, and support various analytics use cases including business reporting, production data pipelines, machine learning, optimization models, statistical models, and simulations. The ideal candidate will utilize Generative AI tools to streamline data pipeline development, automate documentation generation, enhance code quality through AI-assisted reviews, and accelerate problem-solving in complex data scenarios. Experience with AI-powered development tools, automated testing frameworks, and intelligent data analysis platforms is highly valued.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Building and maintaining efficient, scalable, and privacy/security compliant data pipelines to support our business stakeholders.
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensuring data being ingested meets the business user's needs and is well modeled and organized to promote scalable usage and good data hygiene.
• Leveraging new technologies like Gen AI to adapt to business needs, building and improving frameworks and processes with these new tools to accelerate development and improve data quality.

A Day in the Life:

• Collect and discuss requirements from business stakeholders across verticals such as Subscriptions, Sales, Reverse Logistics, Finance, Product, etc.
• Build new data ingestions using a combination of Native AWS services and/or internal Amazon tools.
• Maintain/Improve existing data ingestions and ensure they meet evolving standards and corporate mandates.
• Build/Improve/Maintain frameworks or tools for internal team and external stakeholder usage to manage data.
• Perform code reviews and ensure best practices are followed for ETL and data hygiene by team members and supporting teams.
• Build and update AI agents to streamline data engineering tasks.

About the Team:

The Ring Data Warehouse team manages the centralized data repository for Ring. We bring in and publish data from numerous internal and external sources, which are used by various stakeholders such as Ring Product engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Customer Support, and Sales information.
