Are you a motivated architectural designer who's passionate about BIM and eager to embrace the future of design? We're looking for a creative, driven professional who combines architectural expertise with innovative technology. If you're excited about using AI-enhanced design tools, Autodesk Forma platform, and sustainable building practices to transform complex projects, we want to hear from you. Our team is pushing boundaries by integrating advanced BIM workflows with sustainable design solutions, and we need someone who's naturally curious and ready to learn. If you thrive in a collaborative environment where innovation meets practical design, and you're ready to help shape the future of sustainable architecture, then you belong on our team!
You'll join a highly creative, multi-discipline BIM design team delivering challenging and complex projects with innovative solutions for Amazon-owned Data Center facilities. You will support our Central Engineering team through the preparation of Architectural and Structural BIM models, leveraging BIM data to drive design excellence. You will work with internal teams and external consultants to ensure all BIM models and model data comply with AWS BIM Standards and meet the Level of Development (LOD) requirements outlined in the Employer's Information Requirements (EIR). Your scope will include learning and contributing to Data Center design across exterior envelope, structural system, interior architecture, furniture/finishes/equipment, site planning, space planning, life safety, structural systems, and building code compliance. You will produce and maintain architectural drawing sets for our fleet of Data Centers, participate in BIM coordination meetings, and review consultant models to ensure clash-free delivery.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Key job responsibilities include designing architectural and structural BIM support for Data Center facilities, utilizing Revit to create and maintain BIM models in accordance with AWS BIM Standards. You will work collaboratively within a team environment with support and guidance to accomplish assigned tasks—engaging with internal groups, external consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure all BIM models and model data comply with AWS BIM Standards and meet the Level of Development (LOD) requirements outlined in the Employer's Information Requirements (EIR).
Your duties will include:
A day in the life as a designer involves collaborating across disciplines and teams to refine data center designs—creating detailed models, drawings, specifications, and prototypes while keeping managers and leadership informed of design evolution. A significant part of your role involves BIM coordination: participating in regular trade coordination meetings, performing clash detection and resolution across Architectural, Structural, and MEP models, and conducting BIM model audits to verify compliance with AWS BIM Standards and LOD requirements. You will review consultant models for data accuracy and consistency, ensuring all deliverables meet quality benchmarks before milestone submissions. In this role, you'll receive coaching and guidance from experienced managers to develop your technical and professional skills, proactively seek feedback, participate in regular check-ins, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.
