The operational activities are at the heart of a company like Amazon and one of the key words when it comes to optimizing internal processes is "automation". In the role of Automation Engineer, you will ensure that our automated systems function with the utmost efficiency, so that our customers receive their orders on time. By examining data related to various areas from control systems to sensors, you will maximize the availability of equipment at your locations. You will play a leading role in managing the most innovative technologies of Amazon and will bring all your experience to solve complex problems that would have repercussions on productivity.

Principal Responsibilities

• Monitor the main systems, identifying and resolving issues and criticalities.
• Collaborate with the European control network to monitor metrics related to material handling machinery.
• Provide internal stakeholders with graphical representations of problem-solving data.
• Superrvise or actively participate in continuous improvement projects by the European control network.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure that all systems are appropriately documented and that backup archives are updated and carefully managed.
• Collaborate with colleagues from around the world to install and commission new equipment.
• Provide assistance to other teams within the European control network when necessary.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical systems, defining improvement strategies to ensure programming compliance with the IEC 61131-3 standard.

A Day in the Life

As an Automation Engineer, you will be the go-to person at your location for the proper functioning of automated systems. You will take care of our automation machinery, from conveyor belts to sorting systems, ensuring maximum efficiency. If errors occur or the operation presents areas for improvement, you will take the initiative to find and implement a solution. You will also put your experience at the service of your colleagues who work with you. You will keep your team of Technical Engineers updated through training related to device problem-solving and preventive maintenance checks, so that the team can ensure the proper functioning of our automation systems.
