3D Design Engineer
The WWDE CAD team is looking for a 3D Design Engineer who is able to understand technical problems at sub system and system levels while working directly with all levels of 3D designers and Industrial Design Engineers. The 3D Design Engineer must ensure that provided solutions are scalable and compatible with all existing designing platforms at Amazon. The ability to work within and across large, independent teams is a must, so the right person will have an implicit understanding of the balance needed between design creativity, technical development, communication and partnership. The role will entail working with ambiguous directions and various technical details to create models that showcase possible technologies on sub system and system levels. Models will vary in level of details, ranging from shop level drawings to high-level models showing innovative technologies.
Key job responsibilities:
- Creation of 3D models and layouts using Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit and Factory Design Utilities.
- Creation of presentations of models and 3D layouts, including collages, videos and VR.
- Provide front-line support and development of tools and procedures to extend enhance existing workflows.
- Optimizing our 3D content creation for both quality and scalability, including reconciling our development goals with our approach to 3D.
- Identifying opportunities to develop standard work practices for 3D workflows.
