Retail Sales Team Member
Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.
Eldora strives to deliver Colorado's Front Range the most memorable outdoor adventures to locals and out-of-town visitors. Eldora Mountain Resort employs up to 700 employees at peak season and has 680 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, including a Woodward Mountain Park experience, and a world class Nordic Center.
Position Summary: Come be part of our exciting retail sales team! The responsibilities for this position include ensuring outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging all customers, and assisting them with locating merchandise. Other duties include but are not limited to generating sales, keeping current on product knowledge, completing sales utilizing POS system with accuracy and efficiency, maintaining awareness of all promotions, sales and advertising.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Working on sales floor with retail sales team.
- Working with retail sales peers to reach sales goals throughout the operating season.
- Familiarize yourself with knowledge of goods and services of the mountain to better direct and assist guests with choices; actively pursue opportunities for sales.
- Listen to and take care of guests under time constraints; determine needs of the guest and provide service.
- Answer the phone as if the guest was in person, take detailed notes of the inquiry, help the guest or find a supervisor that can.
- Understand all procedures for POS sales.
- Attend and follow weekly safety meetings, engage and interact as a team.
- Theft Prevention.
- To best serve our guests, the ability learn about our ski and snowboard retail products, mountain terrain, and resort policies is a must.
- Customer Service experience preferred but not required.
- Retail experience preferred but not required.
- Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.
- All employees are expected to support Eldora's corporate responsibility commitment to protect the environment by participating in our Sustainable Transportation Program. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for our guests.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.
Specific Job Skills:
- Detail oriented.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Inventory Experience preferred.
- Prior POS experience preferred.

Physical Demands:
- Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing.
- Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment.
- Concentrated reading and writing.
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 35 lbs.
- Variation in temperature from hot to cold.
Schedule:
- Non-Peak Days (M-F): 7:45am-4:30pm
- Peak Days (Sa/Sun/Holidays): 7:15am-4:30pm
- This schedule represents an average work week and is subject to change based on guest volume, operational needs, and weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $18+ actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
- Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Additionally, this position accumulates sick time.
