The key skills required:
• Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching technologies of 5 years and above.
• In-depth understanding of networking protocols such as IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, RIPV2, 802.11, QoS), etc.
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
• Network planning, design, and implementation experience in HLD and LLD.
• Throughout knowledge of IPv4/v6 migration techniques, policy languages.
• Solid understanding of routing and switching products and technologies.
• Experience with firewalls, internet VPNs, SDWAN, remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Experience in reverse engineering and problem solving.
• Strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator.
• CCNA or CCNP certifications is a plus. Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM processes, like, SLA, Change/Release Management. Experience in using ticketing tools such as service now, remedy will be an added advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Should possess very good knowledge in the areas of:
• Establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards.
• Designing and implementing new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment.
• Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
• Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources.
• Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
• Supporting and administering firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
• Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
• Upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
• Configuring routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls.
• Providing remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
• Providing remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation.
• Undertaking capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers.
• Liaising with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis.
• Speaking to customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture.
• Excellent troubleshooting problem solving and organizational skills.
• Media capacity policy management & basic health checkup needs to be managed.
• Monitor and resolve alerts.
• Monitor system security.
