The role is responsible for creating efficient manufacturing processes across different product categories from idea framing, visioning, through product design, and launch into successful mass production. Your contribution:
- Implement innovation ideas for Logitech.
- Lead and/or support CMF (Color, Material, Finish) technology projects to enable products and customer diversity, inclusivity, sustainability, and customization.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes at early stages of product development to define critical process requirements.
- Investigate and validate new surface finishing processes, techniques, and equipment where appropriate.
- Partner with Product Marketing/ID/ME/CMF design to perform CMF engineering design of new products with materials selection and qualification.
- Manage and partner with molding and CMF-related suppliers to ensure smooth CMF process ramp-up and MP (Mass Production) for NPI (New Product Introduction).
- As a CMF consultant, support ongoing supplier audits for new technology and cost evaluation on existing technology.
Your qualifications and skills:
- 5 years of experience as a CMF/ME engineer.
- 5 years of experience in industries like electronics, sports goods, or related sectors involving molding, painting, printing, and plastic decoration.
- 3 years of experience managing suppliers in high-volume production or small-batch manufacturing is considered a plus.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills in a global setup.
- Expertise in creative CMF engineering design during the early stages of product concept in collaboration with design, marketing, operations, and other engineers.
- Ability to synthesize and present data and ideas logically.
- Act as the custodian of engineering design quality to ensure CMF process capabilities during trials and MP.
- Strong familiarity with materials know-how and technology, including plastics, metals, composites, flexible technology, and more.
- Experience in color/appearance management techniques and finishing processes such as painting, printing, and IMD (In-Mold Decoration).
- Skilled in ISO auditing and maintaining proactive partnerships with key CMF suppliers.
