About The Team

In your role as Team Leader you would be managing a team of 7-8 clinicians (OT, PT and SP) with approximately 50% leadership responsibilities and 50% clinical caseload. This is an excellent opportunity to continue growing your skills whilst reporting into the Kingswood Therapy Manager for support.

Overall the Kingswood team is made up of 18 staff including Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists and a Receptionist. We are supported by a client engagement team allowing therapists to focus on the incredible intervention they provide each day. Kingswood has a high number of paediatric clients with 50% of clients aged 0-6 and 25% aged 7-14. Your clinical caseload will be varied in complexity and can include goal direct intervention, equipment and AT prescription, delivery and review, as well as community liaison and connection. Therapists work and provide intervention on and offsite, with some client homes, schools, and community appointments, however most appointments occur on the Kingswood site in our therapy and group rooms.

Kingswood is a highly innovative, experienced, supportive, and social team who provides intervention in our numerous therapy rooms, as well as operating an organisation funded baby clinic to support children under 2 at risk of Cerebral Palsy. The team are supported to develop, facilitate and engage in intensives, groups, and programs that support client and therapist interest and need. The team are incredibly experienced in their disciplines and are continually finding ways to develop and to best meet the needs of the clients and region.

Each therapist is supported by a clinical educator and manager and have an opportunity to explore a caseload filled with their interests and passions to further develop their knowledge, practice and career.

Required Skills

  • Strong communication skills including conveying expectations, providing feedback, and facilitating team discussions, communicating risks and barriers to the Regional Manager, and effective engagement with stakeholders and clients to understand their needs and concerns
  • Leading through guidance, motivation and support
  • Ability to translate strategic priorities of the organisation into meaningful actions for your team
  • Problem-Solving: troubleshooting challenges, performing logistical gymnastics and making informed decisions in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Data-driven decision-making
  • Proficient user of IT
  • Commitment to supporting team members to navigate daily challenges as well as their longer-term professional development.
  • An understanding of the complex needs of our clients

What We're Looking For:

  • Relevant qualifications in allied health
  • Evidence of current AHPRA/SPA/ESSA registration or a willingness to attain it.
